  • I am unable to find/press the submit button for the speaker applications. How should I submit my application?
    If you're having trouble with the form on the website, please complete the application on bit.ly/tedxutdspeak. If you encounter further issues, reach out to us at tedxutd@gmail.com.
  • Does it matter if I submit my application closer to the deadline? Will this negatively impact my application?
    No, the application submission time is not considered during the selection process. As long as you submit before the application deadline, your timing won't affect your application.
  • What will be the theme of the 2024 conference talks?
    The theme is Redefinition with synonymous ideas of Reflection, Growth, Reconnection, Mental Health, Adapting, Mindset, and Change.
  • What is the deadline for speaker applications for the 2024 conference?
    The deadline to submit your application is February 4th, 2024.
  • Can I submit more than one talk idea?
    We only accept one talk idea per person to streamline the review process. Please submit the talk idea you believe is the strongest.
  • How long should my submitted speech be?
    Aim for a speech between 5-15 minutes; 10+ minutes is preferred. If selected, our team will collaborate with you to adjust the length while maintaining quality.
  • When and where is the conference?
    The conference is scheduled for April 19th, 2024, on the University of Texas at Dallas campus.
  • Is it fine if I am not in town before the conference (for rehearsals/revisions)?
    As long as you're available for online meetings or regular contact to ensure your speech readiness, it should be fine.
  • Who is allowed to apply to speak at the 2024 conference?
    Speaker applications are open to everyone! There are no restrictions based on profession, campus affiliation, age, etc.
  • When will the final speakers be announced?
    We aim to announce the final speaker panel near the end of March.
  • Will the event be recorded?
    We'll make efforts to record the event, but we can't guarantee that all parts will be recorded or released for public viewing.
